Dubai Public Holidays 2012Dubai has many public holidays per year. Below is a breakdown of these days for 2008/2009/2010/2011. Some of the include Islamic holidays as well as the usual 'western' holidays. Eid Ul Fitr is based on the lunar calendar and therefore all dates given below are approximations.
2012 - Public Holidays in the United Arab Emirates
1st January - New Year's Day. 4th February - Mouloud (Milad)(Birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammed PBUH) 17th June - Israa & Leilat al-Meiraj (Ascension of the Prophet SAW) 19th - Eid ul-Fitr (End of the holy month of Ramadan) 25th October - Eid ul-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) - also known as Big Eid. 15th November - Al-Hijra (Islamic New Year - Start of Muharam) 2nd December - UAE National Day.
2011
1st January - New Year's Day. 15th February - Mouloud (Milad)(Birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammed PBUH) 28th June - Israa & Leilat al-Meiraj (Ascension of the Prophet SAW) 1st August - Start of Ramadan 30th August & 31st August - Eid ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) 5th November - Day of Arafat (Haj) 6th November & 7th November - Eid ul-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) - also known as Big Eid. 26th November - Al-Hijra (Islamic New Year - Start of Muharam) 2nd December - UAE National Day.
